Treadmill
A key component of the new Animal Rehabilitation Center of North Texas (ARC), which is a program of the DVSC, is the underwater treadmill. This treadmill will be used by our patients to minimize postoperative swelling, increase muscle strength and encourage early use of the operated limb.

All physical therapy activities will be under the supervision of a licensed, human physical therapist who has received individualized instruction in physical rehabilitation of small animal patients at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine.

In addition to the underwater treadmill, we are also offering ultrasound therapy, electrical stimulation, aquatic therapy, active/passive range of motion exercises and massage therapy. The new physical therapy center is available for referral of your patients, even if the surgical procedure was not performed at the DVSC. Consultations with the therapist can be scheduled through the front office of the surgery center. Most therapies can be done on an outpatient basis.
